In Edward Scissorhands, an artificial man is created by an eccentric Inventor in a mansion overlooking a town. The Inventor plans to give his creation real hands, but he dies suddenly before completing them. As a result, Edward is left with scissors for hands and lives alone in the mansion. A kindhearted Avon saleswoman named Peg Boggs discovers Edward, and takes him home to live with her family.
